Core Values
1. Love (I Cor. 13, I John 4:7-11, Matt. 25:31-46) We believe that every person is infinitely valuable to God. Therefore we seek to show genuine respect, radical acceptance and unconditional love to anyone God places in our path, regardless of their looks, social status, personality, or sins. We seek to give generously and serve sacrificially because however we serve the least of these, that is how we serve Christ.
2. Real-ness (Rom. 12:9, Eph. 4:15, John 8:32) We believe that truth, honesty and authenticity bring freedom in life and relationships. Therefore we seek to eradicate any kind of fake-ness, hypocrisy or “b.s. religion” from our own lives and the lives of one another. We believe speaking the content of truth in the context of love changes lives.
3. Passion (Col. 3:23, Heb. 12:1-2, Num. 14:24) We believe that God must be our absolute first priority in life and all else is done for His sake. Therefore we do not want to do anything half-heartedly but seek to our very best effort in everything we do. We are actively engaged in the mission of Christ to the world, pouring our life into helping others.
4. Discipline (Gal. 6:7-9, I Tim. 4:7-8) We believe that there are no shortcuts to spiritual maturity or effective living. Therefore we seek to be lifelong learners, willing to work hard, practice faithfully and grow patiently into long-term faithfulness and fruitfulness. We seek to lead lives that are profoundly contemplative and intensely communal so that we may build strong relationships with God and others.
5. Freedom (II Cor. 3:17, Gal. 5:1) We believe everyone has been given choices to make. We do not want to attempt to take those decisions away from anyone through force, manipulation, or shame. We respect the wonderful differences and diversity of personalities that God created. Therefore we seek to joyfully express the many eccentricities that God built into us for His own pleasure. In addition to the above, we seek always to live out the fruit of the Spirit (Gal.5:22-23):Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness/Humility, Self-Control.
